Cloud Computing Basics and Description
Cloud Computing is the use of hardware and software to deliver a service((delivery of computing services—including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence) over a network (typically the Internet) to offer faster innovation, easier evaluation and calculation, faster processing of information, flexible resources, and economies of scale. Cloud computing makes data backup, disaster recovery and business continuity easier and less expensive because data can be mirrored at multiple redundant sites on the cloud provider's network. With cloud computing, users can access files and use applications from any device that can access the Internet. An example of a Cloud Computing provider is Google's Gmail. There are 4 main types of cloud computing: public clouds, private clouds, hybrid clouds, and multiclouds. There are also 4 main types of cloud computing services: Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS); Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS); Software-as-a-Service (SaaS); Business-Process-as-a-Service (BPaaS)
